Finally a boy layout

I've done a bunch of girly layouts, but I have only done a couple of boy layouts. When mom came to visit last week we went to the Salt Lake Scrapbook Expo & got a bunch of fun stuff - for cheap!!! Anyway, I made this layout using one of the sticker packs I got for boys. I LOVE the "I'm here to live outloud" sticker. I'm gonna put that on James' wall!

Also, the photos that are with the layout are a couple of the ones I'm gonna print out to put on the pages. He put his overalls on by himself - backwards... LOL!

*******

Today I kissed him on the forehead, and he said, "Aw... Shucks!"

Yesterday he came in the kitchen to me and Kirk & said, "This party is a flopperoo!"

The day before I accidentally blocked his view of the TV. He pushed me out of the way and said, "Mom! You're ruining my life!"

*******

He turns 4 years old on May 18th... and he's STILL not potty trained! I've tried for a year now to get him to do it. He's done it twice. Once on his little potty, and once on the big one. Help!!!

Conquering her fears!

My mom... lives in Georgia and has suffered from panic attacks most of her life (with elevators, other people driving, motorcycles, roller coasters, etc...) Anyone who knows her understands! Well, she came to visit, and we are so proud of her! She rode our 4 wheeler by herself! She did awesome! And she was pretty proud of herself!!! Go Mom!

Oh... And see the trenches on the ground behind Jessica? The sprinklers are almost done! Yeah!

Are you feeling it?

I don't know about you, but I've sure noticed that times are getting harder. Prices are going up. Home prices are crashing, Crime is getting scarier. Disasters are happening more and more... Sure wish (price wise) that I'd stocked up on those grains & other food a long time ago!

What's that saying? - "If ye are prepared, ye shall not fear." Hm... I'm a little scared of gas and food prices. Granted it's hard to store gas, but food? Well, I can do better. And I am! I'm starting (AGAIN) to stock up on more food & living supplies for my family, and I'm even gonna start making homemade bread every week like my sister does! Ooh! She only spends .35 cents a loaf on homemade bread. And she even grinds her own whole wheat! What a woman!

Anyways, I'm also gonna start a recipe section soon with some WAAAY yummy stuff (and photos!)
I love recipes - as long as they're easy of course! So this should be pretty fun for me... and hopefully everyone else too.

Also, if you're interested in being a little more "prepared" - here are a couple of awesome websites. There is so much information! There is bulk food, emergency supplies, lists and spreadsheets, instructions, articles, how to's, resources, etc...

I know, I know... I haven't posted since the beginning of the month. More pictures are coming soon. I promise!!!

Sprinkler Time!

Finally working on our yard. Yeah!!! We'll do about 1/3 of our sprinklers this year, then we'll finish the rest next year. But we have 1.4 acres, so we'll still have a good bit of yard, I guess. First photo is Kirk on the tractor grading, building up planters, & expanding both of our driveways... and then James... He dumped manure into the planter, built it up with his little shovel, & stuck a stick in it. Then he yelled at me & said, "Look mom! Come here! Look at my little baby tree I planted!" (Notice his Giraffe boots, Giraffe gloves, AND Giraffe baby shovel - Go Target!)

Granny Gunner!

My mom shooting a machine gun at a target range at a military base in Georgia! My dad works on post, & he took her there for the afternoon. How did she do? Well... probably better than I could have - About 2 football fields away were the little target guys, & she shot them down one after the other. Got most of them, & she hasn't shot a gun in over 10 years! (My sweet little grandpa taught her to shoot when she was little. He did a good job of it!) Go Granny!

Mayonnaise Face

What happens when you tantalize your dad while he's making a sandwich? What happens when you just refuse to leave him alone? You get mayonnaise smeared all over your face!!! Chylanne, maybe you'll listen next time! Hee Hee!
